Our Story
Celebrating 40+ years serving
Colorado's legal community.
The only publication of its kind in Colorado, every week since 1983.
The Beginning
Started with a sample copy
and 6,000 attorneys.
Sally Gilbert started JVRC in October 1983 after seeing a similar publication in another state. She had a background working for an attorney and understood what information lawyers needed but couldn't easily access.
She sent a sample copy to 6,000 Colorado attorneys and got an immediate, enthusiastic response. Within weeks, JVRC had its first subscribers. Forty years later, it's still the only publication of its kind in Colorado.
The newsletter is published 48 times per year, covering civil jury verdicts from federal and district courts across every one of Colorado's 64 counties.
Year JVRC was founded by Sally K. Gilbert
The archive is the most complete record of Colorado civil verdicts in existence.
Every issue ever published is preserved and indexed. When attorneys need comparable verdicts for case evaluation or settlement negotiation, they call us, and we search the archive to find exactly what they need.
The Research Service
40+ years of verdicts,
searched for you.
About 15 years ago, Sally's husband Steve Gilbert joined as Director of Research, building out a custom research service on top of the newsletter archive. Attorneys can now request a targeted search of the full 40+ year archive, receiving a report of comparable verdicts, awards, attorneys, and case details.
Kari Anderson has joined the team as the next generation, bringing the business into its digital future.
